INDIANAPOLIS - Findlay and Hillsdale earn Great Midwest Tennis Athlete of the Week honors announced Wednesday afternoon.
On the men’s side, Cedarville, Findlay, Hillsdale and Tiffin all picked up wins last week. For the women, Findlay picked up a pair of wins, while Tiffin and Cedarville also picked up wins.
Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

Hillsdale defeated Southern Indiana on Sunday (6-1) to improve to 6-1 overall on the season. Conrad won both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.
The sophomore swept No. 1 singles, winning 6-1, 6-1. He then teamed up with Sean Barstow to dominate No. 1 doubles, 6-1.
Conrad is 4-3 on the season in No. 1 singles. The duo of Conrad and Barstow is also 4-3 on the season in No. 1 doubles.
Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

The Oilers went 2-1 on the week with wins over Lawrence Tech (4-0) and Saginaw Valley (5-2). Findlay fell to Indiana Tech in a close match (3-4). Alvarado went 3-0 in No. 1 singles and picked up a win in No. 1 doubles last week.
In the win over Lawrence Tech, Alvarado won No. 1 singles (LT) 6-7 (6-8), 4-1, unfinished.
Against Saginaw, Alvarado easily defeated her No. 1 singles opponent, 6-0, 6-1. Alvarado and teammate Samantha Sweet dominated No. 1 doubles, 6-0.
At Indiana Tech, Alvarado picked up her third No. 1 singles win of the week (7-5, 3-6, 6-1).
The junior is 3-0 in No. 1 singles on the season. Alvarado has two No. 1 doubles wins on the season; one with Sweet and one with Luciana Pereyra.
