INDIANAPOLIS - The first Great Midwest Tennis Athletes of the Week for the spring season were named Wednesday afternoon.
Cedarville, Tiffin and Walsh competed on both the men's and women's side, and Hillsdale women also took the tennis courts. Walsh men and Tiffin women went 2-0 on the week to earn Athlete of the Week honors.

The Walsh men's tennis team travelled to Edinboro on Friday where they defeated the Fighting Scots, 4-3. The Cavaliers then hosted Ashland on Sunday, winning 6-1 over the Eagles.
Junior standout Jakob Riglewski won a pair of No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles matches last week.
At Edinboro, Riglewski defeated his opponent 6-2 and 6-3. Riglewski and Alex Medina then won No. 1 doubles, 7-5.
On Sunday, Riglewski once again won No. 1 singles over Ashland opponent, Priyank Soni (6-4, 6-2). The doubles pair of Riglewski and Medina beat Ashland's No. 1 doubles, 7-6 (7-5).
This is the second time Riglewski has been named Athlete of the Week, as he first earned the honors in 2019.

The Tiffin women's tennis team defeated Purdue University-Northwest on Saturday by a score of 4-3. The Dragons then beat Saginaw Valley on Sunday, 6-1.
Abbie-Jade Riley played a large role in the Tiffin team wins, as she won both No. 1 singles matches and was a part of No. 1 and No. 3 doubles wins.
Against Purdue-Northwest, Riley defeated Lena Van Bergen in No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-0). She then joined teammate Shea Foster to defeat Purdue-Northwest's No. 3 doubles team, 7-6.
Against Saginaw, Riley defeated Sara Neves in No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-1). She also played No. 1 doubles with teammate Anais Geslin, beating the Saginaw pair, 6-0.
This is the second team in Riley's career that she has earned weekly honors.
