INDIANAPOLIS – League games are officially underway in a new month as Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week honors went to nationally ranked Ashland.
Thursday night tipped off the Great Midwest schedule with five games played across the league. Ashland, Cedarville, Findlay, Kentucky Wesleyan and Walsh, each collected wins while on Saturday, Ohio Dominican, KWC, Hillsdale, Ashland and Malone, emerged as victors.
Ashland and Kentucky Wesleyan both lead the standings at 2-0 while Malone and Walsh each won their only conference contest played.

Roshak is now a two-time recipient of conference athlete of the week honors after also earning the nod in Week 2. The Eagles are ranked 11th in the WBCA Poll with head coach Kari Pickens and her program out of the gates with a 6-1 start.
Ashland acquitted itself well in the first conference games by going on the road to beat Ohio Dominican and Cedarville by 20+ point margins of victory.
Roshak averaged very close to a double-double by posting numbers of 20.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in her sample size.
The junior forward shot north of 62 percent from the field and averaged 1.5 steals, blocks and assists, per contest as well.
Roshak led four Eagles in double figures on Saturday against Cedarville and wound up with a game-high 21 points. She was 9-for-15 from the field and added six rebounds and three blocked shots as AU shot above 50 percent as a team.
In her first conference game vs. ODU, Roshak scored 20 points in just 24 minutes as teammate Hallie Heidemann was the high scorer with 24 on the night. She was 9-of-14 on her shot attempts and knocked down a pair of threes. She completed the double-double with 11 boards.
Roshak is ranked second in the league in scoring only behind Ursuline’s Michaela Cloonan at 21.2 ppg. Roshak and Cloonan are the only players so far to average more than 20 points per game for their program.
