INDIANAPOLIS – As student-athletes aim to finish the calendar year strong with their finals in the classroom and play on the court, Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week honors were announced on Monday for Hillsdale.

The Chargers defeated two of the league’s most successful programs while building up to a three-game win streak against Ohio Dominican and Cedarville in the last week of competition.
 
The Chargers were able to celebrate an overall season record above .500 for the first time in a long time back in March of 2019.
 
Now at 3-1 in the league standings, Hillsdale is tied for second through this point in the Great Midwest schedule and carries a 5-4 overall season mark.
 
Touchette was second on the team in scoring in 2020-21 and elevated her numbers to a different level in HC’s last two games.
 
The senior guard averaged 21.5 points per game while shooting over 66 percent from the field (16-24). She also chipped in three rebounds and four assists over those two conference wins.
 
The Chargers secured the win over Cedarville on the road, 80-74, as Touchette matched her previous career-high point total with 24 points.
 
Touchette is firmly in the top 10 in the league rankings in several statistical categories including points (17.1 ppg – 6th), field goal percentage (.500 – 8th), 3-point percentage (.373 – 7th), free throw percentage (.800 – 8th), assists (3.6 – 8th) and blocks (0.7 – 8th).
