INDIANAPOLIS – Two programs which celebrated opening quarterfinal round advancement were rewarded with Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Players of the Week honors on Tuesday.
No. 4 seed Trevecca Nazarene and No. 6 seed Walsh both moved on after earning the upper hand in a penalty kick shootout. The semifinals and championship game are being conducted at Ferguson Field on the campus of Ashland, this year’s conference regular season champion.
Ashland and Cedarville are the top two seeds in the six-team bracket who received first-round byes.

Panama City, FL (A. Crawford Mosely HS)
Legg has scored three goals in her last three games going back to the regular season finale against Kentucky Wesleyan, when she found the net twice.
She continued the postseason transition on a high note by helping the Trojans defeat No. 5 Ohio Dominican in Saturday’s playoff matchup.
Legg countered an Ohio Dominican go-ahead goal in the second half by scoring about six minutes later to tie things up at 1-1.
From there, it was a defensive deadlock until the end of 110 minutes and the Trojans subsequently were able to win the shootout.

Cedar Rapids, IA (CR Washington HS/Iowa Western/Dixie St.)
From a seeding standpoint, the Cavaliers were probably not predicted by many to eliminate No. 3 seed Findlay when the bracket was finalized for the postseason.
Walsh was able to do just that as the sixth seed on Saturday to advance into the semifinal round against No. 2 Cedarville on Thursday.
The Cavaliers held the Oilers to just three shots in regulation as Parraguez was credited with a pair of saves in the tie.
The junior keeper played all 110 minutes while seeing her team deliver in PK’s with three consecutive makes.
