INDIANAPOLIS – A pair of perfect 4-0 records were parlayed into the first spring selections for Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tennis Athletes of the Week honors as announced on Thursday.
The conference released the annual preseason coaches polls on Wednesday with Tiffin and Findlay tied at the top of the men’s voting and two-time league champion Hillsdale headlining the women’s ballot.
Men’s Athlete of the Week
Filipp Kulynych
Walsh

It was a pair of close decisions to start the spring for the Cavaliers while facing No. 3 Atlantic Region ranked Edinboro and Ashland.
Kulynych did his part for the team by having a perfect week at No. 5 singles and No. 2 doubles for the Cavaliers, who were recently picked fourth in the preseason coaches poll.
Against Edinboro, Kulynych dug down deep and rallied to come away with a three-set victory, 3-6, 6-3, 10-4. In doubles, he helped bring home a 6-4 win with Clemens Wagner as Walsh secured the crucial doubles team point.
Kulynych won in straight sets vs. Ashland, dropping his opponent, 6-2, 6-3. Again with Wagner, they won doubles vs. the Eagles, 7-6.

Geslin collected her second athlete of the week award for the 2019-20 season as the Dragons debuted the spring with wins vs. Notre Dame (OH) and regional foe Davenport.
