INDIANAPOLIS – Hillsdale and Tiffin each won dual matches on their way to earning Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tennis Athletes of the Week awards on Wednesday.
 
Men’s Athlete of the Week
Michael Szabo

The unbeaten Chargers scored a big regional win to improve to 3-0 on the season, beating Ashland inside the Biermann Center on Saturday.
 
The senior did his part, winning No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles as the Hillsdale won by a final count of 4-3.
 
Szabo won in straight sets vs. Jordan Phelps, 6-4, 6-4, before teaming up with Brian Hackman to win doubles, 6-2.
 
Hillsdale will hit the courts this upcoming weekend vs. Purdue Northwest on the road.
 
Women’s Athlete of the Week
Shea Foster
Tiffin
Sophomore
Bellbrook, OH (Bellbrook HS)
 
The Dragons went 2-0 with dual victories over Oberlin and Northwood, making it six consecutive team wins to start the 2019-20 season.
 
In both matches, the sophomore went a combined 3-0.
 
Against Oberlin, she won her No. 5 singles match, 7-5, 4-6, 10-5, and won doubles with Jacqueline Kamps at the No. 3 position.
 
Against Northwood, she contributed to a doubles team point with Kamps again.
