INDIANAPOLIS – After hosting an invitational with two other member institutions in the field, Hillsdale secured Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tennis Athlete of the Week status as announced on Tuesday morning.

Junior
Troy, MI (Troy HS)
It was a perfect showing for Cimpeanu against some of the Great Midwest’s best during the Hillsdale Invitational on Saturday.
The Chargers welcomed Tiffin and Walsh on Saturday for some familiar competition on the courts.
Hillsdale had the best showing of the three teams with an 18-7 record spanning singles and doubles.
The junior Cimpeanu went 4-0 on the day, beating Walsh's Katharina Razum (6-2, 6-1) and Tiffin's Abbie-Jade Riley (7-5, 6-2) at No. 1 singles, and teaming with Sarah Hackman to win both No. 1 doubles matches (6-2 over Walsh, 6-3 over Tiffin).
Cimpeanu is currently 7-2 this season, including the ITA Regional in Greenwood back on September 19.
The fall season is officially wrapped up for Hillsdale and the program will look ahead to the 2021 spring in defense of their conference title.
This is Cimpeanu’s fifth time (second time this year) receiving Great Midwest Athlete of the Week honors in her accomplished career.
