INDIANAPOLIS – The first selection for Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors was made on Wednesday by the league office as several teams opened the 2019-20 season.

Playing on a sprained ankle, Drasch and her doubles partner Parvanee Karimpour posted the first match win of the day winning 6-4 at third doubles.
Her effort ultimately helped the Cavaliers secure the team doubles point and put Walsh up 1-0 heading into singles action against regional opponent Ashland.
During singles, Drasch came from match point down to secure a win 2-6, 7-5, 10-4 at the #4 singles spot as the Cavaliers edged the Eagles by a final team score of 4-3.
Earlier in the weekend, Drasch and her teammates also competed at the Oberlin Invitational in tournament action. She earned a doubles win with Karimpour by way of a tiebreaker over a tandem from Oberlin.
The Cavaliers are idle for the rest of the week before returning to action with more league teams at the ITA Regionals hosted by Davenport University starting Friday, Sept. 20.
