Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week (April 30)

INDIANAPOLIS – Findlay and Tiffin secured Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week for the final week of the regular season before the playoffs get underway.
 
Four teams are headed to Tiffin’s Paradiso Fields for this year’s conference tournament. The Dragons enter their first Great Midwest Championship bracket as the No. 1 seed regular-season champion.
 
Also in the postseason mix is No. 2 Findlay, No. 3 Walsh and No. 4 Lake Erie. The semifinals will be played on Thursday.

Peebles led the Oilers to a pair of wins by recording three goals and eight assists. She had two goals and four assists in the Oilers 17-7 win over Lake Erie on April 26 and then came back with on goal and four assists in Findlay's 18-3 win at Ursuline on April 28.

Peebles also broke the school record for assists in a season last week and has 40 thus far. She also became the only Oilers player to record 100 career goals and 100 career assists in the win over Lake Erie. She currently has 102 career goals and 107 career assists.

For the fourth week of the season, Morrison’s exploits on the defensive side of the field didn’t go unnoticed as the Dragons finished off their perfect conference schedule. 
 
Tiffin handed defending conference champion Lake Erie an 18-7 defeat as the senior put up some well-rounded numbers in the box score.
 
She also checked all-region, last year’s league offensive player of the year Anna Spin to just two goals and marked the dangerous playmaker on the settled attack. Morrison limited Spin’s chances offensively with touches on the ball.
