INDIANAPOLIS – Reigning champion Tiffin earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference Baseball Players of the Week honors as announced on Monday. 
 
The Dragons are preparing for their trip to the NCAA Championship Midwest Regional at Ashland starting on Thursday. Tiffin drew the top-seeded Eagles for a first-round matchup at 3:30 p.m. ET. 
 
Tiffin is the No. 8 seed in the regional after winning the conference tournament as the No. 7 seed to earn an automatic bid.

Hitting cleanup in the batting order, Heckman produced in some critical RBI opportunities while helping the Tiffin offense find its stride against opposing pitching. 
 
The redshirt senior earned player of the week honors for the second time in a row after the No. 7 seed Dragons finished 4-0 at Prasco Park in their first experience at the Great Midwest Championship. 
 
Heckman batted .474 and went 9-for-19 at the plate with eight RBI. He had two doubles and a triple while drawing a walk and scoring two runs. 
 
While run-ruling No. 3 Trevecca Nazarene, Heckman doubled twice and had four RBI in a 15-4 win in the second round of the winner’s bracket. 
 
In the championship game on Saturday, Heckman went 2-for-3 with two RBI. He drove in the first run of the game and the last while also making the final out with a catch in right field to trigger the postseason celebration. 
 
Heckman was a first team all-conference selection as voted upon by the coaches. 
 
Pitcher of the Week
Cody Orr

In addition to being one of the best hitters in the postseason, Orr made his mark on the pitcher’s mound while helping Tiffin carve out a path to an eventual championship trophy.
 
The sophomore was voted as an all-conference first-team performer by the coaches and his two-way ability was on display at Prasco Park.
 
Orr went the distance for a nine-inning complete game against No. 5 Kentucky Wesleyan. He struck out 10 hitters and gave up three runs on seven hits. 
 
It was a critical victory in the winner’s bracket with both teams at 2-0 looking to earn a trip to the conference championship series. 
 
Orr also batted .600 manning the leadoff position in the batting order with six RBI and a pair of extra-base hits.
