INDIANAPOLIS – Tiffin and Hillsdale earned the new set of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s & Women’s Tennis Athletes of the Week honors as released on Wednesday.
Men’s Athlete of the Week

The Dragons rolled to a pair of conference wins, including 2018 championship finalist Walsh and on the road at Kentucky Wesleyan.
Parfenov excelled out of both singles and doubles, winning all four matchups without a single game being won against him.
The sophomore blanked Walsh’s Dawson Drummond and performed well with former athlete of the week Toby Cutting at No. 1 doubles for a shutout.
In Owensboro, he blanked Evan Morton at No. 1 singles and won in doubles with Cutting once again.
The Dragons join Hillsdale and Findlay at the top of the conference standings at 2-0 going into the new week.
Women’s Athlete of the Week

The Chargers earned a pair of conference victories, both on the road, as Cimpeanu performed a clean sweep in singles and doubles for the Chargers, who improved to 3-0 in league play.
Hillsdale handed Walsh its first conference loss and blanked a program that was 12-6 going into their head-to-head matchup.
Cimpeanu anchored the Chargers at the No. 1 singles position, besting Walsh’s Mercedes Fernandez, 2-6, 6-1, 7-5. She then won No. 2 doubles with Sarah Hackman by a 7-5 count.
The sophomore won in straight sets against Elizbaeth Weber of Ursuline, 6-0, 6-0, and again worked with Hackman to win No. 2 doubles vs. the Arrows.
This is her second conference athlete of the week honor of the season. She was the 2018 Great Midwest Freshman of the Year for the defending conference champion Chargers as voted upon by the coaches.
