2018-19 Women's Basketball All-Conference Team

NORTH CANTON, Ohio
– With the final four playoff teams in attendance, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball All-Conference Team was announced on Thusrday before the championship semifinals.

Walsh is serving as host for the last three games of the Great Midwest Championship starting with semifinals on Friday. As the regular season came to a close, a three-way tie for first also formed between Walsh, Kentucky Wesleyan and Cedarville.

The co-regular season championship trophies were officially presented to the teams as seniors/team captains accepted to celebrate an 18-4 season in the league standings.

The league’s head coaches cast their vote and determined the all-conference team, consisting of a first team, second team, all-defense team and individual award winners.

The Great Midwest Player of the Year was Findlay senior forward Anna Hintz. She was a three-time conference athlete of the week selection while leading the league in scoring with 18.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.

Hintz also paced the league in free throw percentage and was second in field goal percentage. It was a dominant senior campaign for her as she also contributed almost a full block per game. She helped lead Findlay into the playoffs again as the No. 4 seed in the bracket.

Hintz was also a Google Cloud Academic All-District Team pick and is under consideration for All-American and all-region accolades.

Postseason-qualifying Malone received its share of the individual honors. The Great Midwest Freshman of the Year was Robin Campbell, a versatile combo guard with almost 400 points in her rookie season.

Campbell was fifth in the conference in scoring at 14 ppg and pulled down 5.4 rebounds while starting all 27 games she appeared in.

Voted by her peers as Great Midwest Coach of the Year was MU’s Selana Reale, who guided the Pioneers to the postseason in her first year leading the program. Malone had entered the playoffs as winners in seven of its last eight games.

The first and second teams consisted of 10 student-athletes on each list while the all-defense team, a brand new unit, was introduced for the first time to honor the top defenders in the conference.

Seven of the first team all-conference selections were gathered at the banquet with Walsh (Mayci Sales, Sha Carter) and Kentucky Wesleyan (Jenna Martin, Keelie Lamb) each placing two. The second team was guard dominated as two forwards, Makenna Ott and Brittin Boyer of Trevecca represented the post players.
