Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week (March 12)

INDIANAPOLIS – Davis & Elkins and Findlay split the new set of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week awards that were announced on Tuesday afternoon. 
 
Offensive Player of the Week

The Senators have won three straight, including two victories earned in the past week of competition on the road at Brevard and Montreat.
 
Horan had a total of 13 points, including 11 goals and two assists, while filling out other statistical categories to contribute to the program’s success.
 
Horan had four goals and one assist in the win against Montreat while firing off nine shots. She also won eight draw controls and collected three ground balls and forced two turnovers.
 
The junior was producing at a similar pace against Brevard earlier in the week as she netted seven points (six goals, one assist). She had seven ground balls and seven draw controls while causing three more turnovers.

The preseason coaches poll favorite Oilers played three matches in a busy week with Burud making an impact on both sides of the field. 
 
The three-game slate included road games at Alabama-Huntsville (Monday) and Montevallo (Wednesday). UF then played again on Sunday against McKendree. 
 
Burud caused five turnovers against McKendree and had a league-best 12 ground balls on the week. 
 
She also came through with 11 points from her midfield position and averaged 3.67 points per game.
