INDIANAPOLIS – Dual competition continued into the spring portion of the season as Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s & Women’s Tennis Athletes of the Week were announced on Wednesday.
Men’s Athlete of the Week
Jakob Riglewski
Walsh
Freshman
Munich, Germany (Therese-von-Bayern)
Riglewski has shouldered a considerable amount of responsibility while playing the No. 1 singles position for the Cavaliers as a first-year student-athlete.
Walsh had a tough two-game slate in the past week but the men’s program collected its first win of the season against Daemen. The Cavaliers also played Northwood in regional action.
Riglewski won both of his singles and doubles matchups against Daemen in a 6-1 Walsh win.
He won in straight sets in singles, 6-2, 6-4, while working with Pedro Campos in the No. 1 doubles contest with a 6-4 decision.
Riglewski scored for his team against Northwood with an impressive win in singles vs. Kobus Sauerman that went into three sets. After falling in the second set, 6-0, he bounced back with a 10-8 third-set clinching final.
