INDIANAPOLIS – With some impressive tournament showings, Tiffin and Hillsdale earned the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tennis Athletes of the Week selections as announced on Thursday.
 
Men’s Athlete of the Week

Chatras enjoyed a very strong weekend in Lima, Ohio at the Racer Invitational as he came away with three singles victories and a pair of doubles wins.
 
The junior didn’t lose in singles action in the B Flight, going the extra distance in two of his matches to outlast opponents from host University of Northwest Ohio and Wayne State.
 
Chatras eliminated Lars Kaplusch from the championship bracket semifinals with a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-0) final. He had enough left in the tank after beating in-region foe Pierre Renaudie, 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (2-0).
 
In doubles, the French product combined with Gabriel de Oliveira for a pair of wins in the A Flight. Together, they worked to bring down Wayne State and Northwest Ohio opponents.
 
 
Women’s Athlete of the Week
Sarah Hackman
Hillsdale
Sophomore
Island Lake, IL (Wauconda HS)
 
Hackman was a combined 4-0 at the Hillsdale Invitational, winning a pair of singles and doubles matchups.
 
She also won both matches in a dual victory against Huntington as the fall season winds down to a close.
 
In B Flight doubles, Hackman teamed up with Katie Bell to beat Tiffin’s all-conference combo of Lauren Prince/Abbie-Jade Riley in the final with a tiebreaker, 7-6 (1). They won their first contest by a score of 6-1.
 
In singles, Hackman won 6-1, 6-1, in straight sets before needing to dig a little deeper to defeat Tiffin’s Riley in the B Flight final. The sophomore prevailed in a three set finish, 4-6, 6-3 and 10-5.
 
Hackman won in straight sets at the No. 2 doubles position for the Chargers vs. Huntington and worked with Kamryn Matthews to help HC earn the doubles point.
