INDIANAPOLIS - The men’s and women’s teams from Hillsdale took home both Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tennis Athletes of the Week honors after going a combined 3-0.
Both teams are undefeated in conference play and are looking for their first Great Midwest Championship in tennis. Those championships will take place on April 20-21.
Men’s Athlete of the Week

Adams takes home this honor for the third time this season after a dominant performance by the Chargers against Cedarville with an 8-1 win on Saturday.
The sophomore went 2-0 on the day taking the No. 2 singles matchup against Matt Brumbaugh in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.
He also paired up with Justin Hyman and took down Brumbaugh again as well as Jonathan Class in the No. 1 doubles match by a score of 8-4.
The wins helped improve to 11-4 on the season in singles play this season and 10-4 with partner Justin Hyman in doubles play.
The Hillsdale men also were the first Great Midwest team to clinch a spot in the four-team conference tournament to be conducted in Owensboro, Ky.
Women’s Athlete of the Week

Hyman is also a previous winner of the conference athlete of the week award this season as she took home her second one of 2017-18 with two convincing victories over Great Midwest opponents.
First, on Friday against Kentucky Wesleyan, she took down Jenna Payne 6-1, 6-0, in the No. 1 singles spot and then paired with Hannah Cimpeanu to take down Liz Clayton and Amy Gossett in doubles, 8-2.
She followed that up on Saturday versus Cedarville with another No. 1 singles victory 6-3, 6-1, this time over Liana English. Then she and Cimpeanu took down Rosie Thompson and Janelle English, 8-2, to finish out her perfect 4-0 weekend.
The Chargers took down their competition by a combined score of 18-0 in the two contests and improved to 8-4 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
