INDIANAPOLIS – With the final weekend of the regular season approaching, Seton Hill and Lake Erie hauled in Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week awards on Tuesday morning.
Seton Hill remains ranked at No. 4 in the new USILA Division Poll with Lake Erie sitting at No. 8 and Mercyhurst at No. 17. All three programs have clinched playoff positioning for the upcoming Great Midwest Championship.
Seton Hill remains one win away from clinching the regular-season conference title, the No. 1 seed and the right to host the conference tournament.
Additionally, the first edition of the North Region rankings were released last week with Seton Hill (12-1, 5-0 G-MAC) at No. 3. SHU is winners of 11 straight and is coming off an impressive victory against South Region affiliate Limestone.
The top four teams from the North and South Region rankings will comprise the NCAA DII Championship field. Le Moyne and Merrimack are the top two teams in the North Region while the Griffins are ahead of No. 4 NYIT.

Moran pulled in his third career conference weekly honor in less than two seasons as Seton Hill pushed its current win streak to 11 straight. The Griffins toppled defending national champion Limestone to improve to 12-1.
In a 12-10 win, Moran netted six points on six shots against the Saints. He scored four times and assisted two more and all of his shots were on goal.
He also contributed on the defensive end of the field with three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
Moran is currently second in the league in points per game (5.33) while serving as one of the catalysts for the league’s top scoring offense with the Griffins scoring over 18 goals per game in the spring.

Hnidy made noteworthy contributions for the Storm as Lake Erie toppled Mercy in overtime
Not only was it a marquee win against a nationally-ranked program, but supports LEC’s cause to move into the North Region rankings with Mercy sitting at No. 6 last week.
Lake Erie improved to 10-2 overall and is currently 6-1 in the conference standings, closing in on the No. 2 seed for the Great Midwest Championship bracket.
In Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., Hnidy and the Storm went on the road for the win as the senior defender produced six ground balls and caused five opponent turnovers.
Hnidy and LEC’s defensive unit helped give Lake Erie a 6-3 at halftime. The Storm went into overtime before scoring the game winner in the 62nd minute.
Hnidy has started and played in all 11 games with almost 700 minutes logged on the field this spring for the Storm, whose only defeats were against then-No. 1 Merrimack and No. 4 Seton Hill.
