INDIANAPOLIS – Nationally-ranked Mercyhurst and Walsh each received a share of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week honors that were announced on Tuesday.
No. 12 Mercyhurst took down defending national champion and No. 7 Limestone as the Lakers collected their third straight win in a row. First-year associate member Wheeling Jesuit had a busy week with three contests that included a win against Maryville.

Suchomma scored six of the Cavaliers’ eight goals in a fine effort against Roberts Wesleyan in Walsh’s lone game of the week.
His first goal in gave Walsh a 2-0 lead at the 10:46 mark in the opening period. A few minutes later, he broke a 2-2 tie with a go-ahead score.
Still in the first half, he would net back-to-back goals, including one in unassisted fashion to draw the Cavaliers back even at 5-5 before the break.
Suchomma brought Walsh all square again with the first score in the second half, but RWC would finish the game strong with five consecutive goals.
Suchomma leads Walsh through three games with 11 points (10 G, 1 A) on 21 shots while playing all possible 180 minutes on the field.

Weyl earns conference weekly defensive honors for the second time this season as Mercyhurst picked up a huge win at home against Limestone in an 8-5 win.
A low-scoring contest unfolded as Limestone held a 3-2 lead at halftime. The Lakers broke through the defense in the fourth period with four goals to eventually pull away late.
Weyl caused four turnovers and collected four ground balls as the Mercyhurst defense permitted just 20 shots to be taken by Limestone.
