INDIANAPOLIS – Lake Erie and Walsh secured the spring’s fifth edition of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week honors as announced on Tuesday morning.
Walsh is currently atop of the seven-team Great Midwest standings at 4-0. Lake Erie is unbeaten at 2-0 while defending conference tournament champion Alderson Broaddus is 2-1.

The younger of the Spin family tree enjoyed her moment in the weekly spotlight with 15 points in a pair of non-conference victories against Roberts Wesleyan and Wheeling Jesuit.
Her sister, Cecilia, was the previous pick for Great Midwest Defensive Player of the Week honors following the Storm’s win against Findlay.
LEC scored a combined 33 goals against both RWC and WJU as Spin impacted both outcomes in the record books on the offensive end of the field.
Spin set the conference’s single-game points record and matched the single-game goals record against Wheeling Jesuit. She was on the stat sheet for 10 points and eight goals. Spin also had two assists and caused one turnover.
In a 13-9 win against Roberts Wesleyan, Spin had four goals and one assist with a pair of caused turnovers.
Spin is the current league leader in goals per game (3.83) and is second in the conference in points per game (5.00).

Faus has been the backbone for the Cavaliers’ staunch defensive group, which has helped propel the program to a current five-game win streak.
Walsh was able to earn a pair of conference victories against Alderson Broaddus and Davis & Elkins as Faus collected both winning decisions in net.
She made seven saves on 20 shots faced against the Battlers and played the first half with three more stops against D&E as the Cavaliers pulled away.
Faus improved to 4-1 on the season with almost 300 minutes logged at the position.
