INDIANAPOLIS – Davis & Elkins earned both respective selections on the diamond for Great Midwest Athletic Conference Baseball Players of the Week for the South Division announced on Monday.
The South Division is currently paced by Trevecca while Kentucky Wesleyan and Cedarville are each tied for the second in the standings.
Over the past week, the North Division had a dominant run over the weekend against its counterparts from the South Division.
No. 18 Ohio Dominican and Hillsdale are both a perfect 8-0 to co-lead the North standings. Findlay trails by a game at 7-1 while Lake Erie is 5-1 and Malone/Walsh are still in good position with division records over .500 at 5-3.
The Great Midwest Championship field is an eight-team bracket with the top three teams from North and South and two remaining wild cards.

McKinney’s second career conference weekly honor comes after the junior batted .455 in six games as D&E faced Findlay, Ohio Dominican and Lake Erie, all on the road.
McKinney tallied 10 total hits, including three for extra bases with a pair of doubles and a triple. He had at least one hit in five of the Senators’ six contests.
He also walked twice, stole a base and scored four runs.
McKinney was a perfect 3-for-3 against No. 18 Ohio Dominican to start a doubleheader. He doubled twice and reached on all five plate appearances with a pair of walks.
He also recorded two hits apiece in both games against Findlay and game two of the Lake Erie twinbill.
McKinney is now hitting .311 on the season in 14 games. He has a pair of home runs, 10 runs scored and nine RBI.
South Division Pitcher of the Week

Lakhani’s bid for his second win of the spring resulted in a no-decision against Lake Erie despite impressive numbers in the box score.
Lakhani pitched 7.2 innings and struck out eight storm hitters. He gave up just one earned run on five hits. He was lifted with one out to record left in the eighth inning after D&E plated the game-tying run in the bottom of the seventh frame.
The senior righty is now 1-0 with a 5.11 ERA this spring. He has 29 strikeouts in 24.2 innings pitched.
