Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week (March 13)

INDIANAPOLIS – After beating a pair of USILA nationally-ranked teams, No. 6 Seton Hill and No. 8 Mercyhurst earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week honors as announced on Tuesday.
 
Mercyhurst won its fourth straight defeated No. 11 Mount Olive, one week after taking down defending national champion Limestone. Seton Hill also matched Mercyhurst’s overall record at 4-1 as the Griffins toppled District of Columbia and No. 14 NYIT.

For the second time this spring, Moran collected conference weekly honors for his work in the Griffins’ two victories at home.
 
SHU is seeking an NCAA Championship bid while also attempting to defend its league tournament title with the Great Midwest officially switching over to the North Region this season.
 
Moran averaged six points per game and scored four goals in each contest. He assisted three SHU goals against UDC and one more against NYIT.
 
Twelve of Moran’s 13 shots were on target as he played 117 out of a possible 120 minutes on the field.
 
The talented senior now has 20 points (13 goals, 7 assists) in five games for the Griffins.

Plaskey helped the Lakers grind out another defensive struggle against one of the top teams in the country in Mount Olive. In an 8-6 final, Plaskey helped lead the defensive charge with two-time Great Midwest Defensive Player of the Week Greg Weyl.
 
Mercyhurst permitted just two goals in the first half to hold a 5-2 lead at the break.
 
Plaskey caused three Mount Olive turnovers and collected five ground balls as Mount Olive totaled 28 shots.
