Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week (Feb. 26)

INDIANAPOLIS – Eighth-ranked Seton Hill claimed both Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week honors as announced on Monday.
 
The Griffins improved to 2-1 overall by toppling Roberts Wesleyan. Another nationally-ranked Great Midwest team, No. 12 Mercyhurst, also cruised past Saint Rose for a North Region win to also up its season record to 2-1.
 
SHU has also had Bennett Johnson (offensive) and Max Eismann (defensive) selected as conference players of the week in the spring of 2018 already.
 
Ohio Valley also rolled past Felician in the past week of competition to get the Fighting Scots their first victory of the season.
 
Offensive Player of the Week

Moran was the offensive catalyst for the Griffins against Roberts Wesleyan, scoring four goals and assisting three others in the 18-12 SHU win.
 
He was credited with the efficient seven points on just nine shots taken while also recording three ground balls.
 
Moran had the hat trick in the first period alone as the Griffins took a 4-2 lead. Seton Hill took a 10-3 lead going into the break. He assisted the first score of the second half as the Griffins began to pull away up by as many as eight goals.
 
Moran now has 15 points in just three games, including nine goals and six assists. He is the current league leader in assists and is tied for the lead in goals with teammate John Miller and Wheeling Jesuit’s Dereck Downs.
 
Moran also currently ranks 16th nationally among all Division II players in points per game (4.67). In the Great Midwest’s short history, he now ranks first all-time among all players in total points scored with 68 (32 G, 34 A).

The preseason All-American Craig flies around with the long locks of hair and intimidating war paint underneath the mask as an enforcer for the Seton Hill defensive unit.
 
He came up with three caused turnovers and recorded eight ground balls, tied for the game-high lead.
 
Craig was a first-team all-conference selection in 2017. This is his third career conference weekly defensive honor.
 
On the year, he is now averaging 5.67 ground balls per game while trying to help the Griffins repeat as Great Midwest champions.
