INDIANAPOLIS – Cedarville freshman Halie Hardwick was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Hardwick and the Yellow Jackets faced conference foe Kentucky Wesleyan this past Saturday and helped lead her team to a 9-0 sweep of the Panthers.
Hardwick competed and won two matches on Saturday, one singles and one doubles.
Hardwick’s singles match did not take much time at all to complete. She took care of Panther freshman Hannah Blythe in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.
Hardwick and fellow freshman Janelle English worked to defeat junior Amanda Gossett and sophomore Elizabeth Greer of Kentucky Wesleyan, 8-0, in doubles play.
The win moved Hardwick to 5-9 in singles action on the season. The team win also moved Cedarville to 9-5 on the season and 2-1 in G-MAC play.
