G-MAC Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week (March 6)

3.7.17

INDIANAPOLIS – Davis & Elkins senior Patrick Schneck and No. 6 Seton Hill sophomore Brett Craig were named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week on Monday.

Schneck was named G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week while Craig is a back-to-back selection for G-MAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Schneck helped guide a young Davis & Elkins team to the program’s first-ever win, a 22-17 victory against Chowan on the road. The senior mid/attacker scored four goals and assisted on three others to give him seven points.

It took D&E just three games to get the program’s first win under its belt after battling Roberts Wesleyan and then-No. 4 G-MAC associate member Mercyhurst to debut league play.

Schneck now has six goals and four assists on the season, good for 10 points to rank second in the league so far.

Craig and the Griffins remain on the rise after moving from sixth to the tied for fifth in the USILA/Nike Coaches Poll. This is the third consecutive week that Seton Hill, a first-year associate member of the G-MAC, has continued to climb in the national rankings.

Craig helped SHU collect its first conference win, a convincing decision against Alderson Broaddus. He had his fingerprints all over this one once again, coming up with an assist, six ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Craig is the current league leader in ground balls (20) and averages almost seven per game through three contests this spring.
