INDIANAPOLIS – Ursuline upperclassman combo Cydney Bartlett and Maddie Kipp were both named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week on Monday.
Bartlett and Kipp were both extremely instrumental in the Arrows’ inaugural conference title run in the spring of 2016 and have their sights set on back-to-back trophies this season.
Bartlett earned G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time while Kipp, usually an offensive dynamo herself, had an impact on the other end of the field for G-MAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
The Arrows routed in-state opponent Ohio Northern as weather played a factor in the amount of game played across the league last week.
Bartlett, who holds the single-game scoring record in the G-MAC sport’s short history with nine points last year vs. Urbana, tallied seven points against ONU.
She scored six goals, added one assist and was credited with one draw control in UC’s 19-7 win.
Bartlett is now the league leader in goals and is tied for the league in points with three-time G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week Jasmine Barham (Alderson Broaddus) with 25.
Kipp still found her way on the scoresheet with a goal and an assist on five shots. She still had a pair of ground balls and forced a pair of opponent turnovers and was credited with one draw control.
Kipp has six goals and three assists on the season so far.
Ursuline is now 2-3 overall on the season with league play approaching.
