INDIANAPOLIS – Cedarville freshman Janelle English was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week on Monday.
 
English and the Yellow Jackets went 2-1 on their spring break trip in Florida against Wittenberg, Northwestern (Minn.) and Southwest Minnesota State.
 
This is her first career weekly conference honor as Cedarville improved to 7-4 on the season.
 
English was a perfect 3-0 in singles and went 2-1 in doubles throughout the week. She had a three-set winning decision at the No. 3 position against Northwestern’s Brooke Lapinski.
 
English defeated her other two singles opponents in straight sets.
 
On the season, she improved to 9-2 overall in singles and is 7-3 in doubles action.
