9.6.16

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Cedarville junior Daniel Michalski was named the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the fall on Tuesday.

The Yellow Jackets traveled to Kettering, Ohio, on Saturday, Sept. 3, to compete in the Dayton Flyer 5k Challenge. Cedarville finished 4th out of the eight teams with a number of NCAA Division I schools in the field.

Michalski completed the 5K in 15:20, earning a second-place finish that was just five seconds shy of the first-place pace.

The time officially set a new 5K G-MAC record as Michalski bettered the previous mark of 15:26.69 held by former teammate Benjamin Tuttle. Cedarville will next compete on Saturday, Sept. 17, in the 26th Annual Friendship Invitational (8K).
