GREENWOOD, Ind. - For the second time in three tries this year, Cedarville junior Daniel Michalski has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the fall.

Michalski was the first to cross the finish line at the 26th annual Friendship Invitational hotsed by Cedarville.

He finished the 8K with a time of 25:25.40, which was six seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Michalski's time is the best in the conference for that specific distance this year.

As a team, Cedarville came in first to win the race. The average pace for the Yellow Jackets was 26:25. This was the 10th time that Cedarville has won the Friendship Invite and the seventh time in the last nine years.

The team's next race will be at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championship on Sept. 30.
