GREENWOOD, Ind.
– The six-team Great Midwest Athletic Conference Baseball Championship bracket for May 11-14 was released Monday with the regular-season race going down to the wire over the weekend.

The G-MAC Championship is coming back to picturesque PRASCO Park in Mason, Ohio, again for the postseason staring on Wednesday. Both Prasco Park and Legacy Field will be utilized throughout the week.

At stake, much like for most sports around the conference in 2015-16, is the first automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Championship Midwest Regional.

Three games on Wednesday set the scene for the double-elimination formatted bracket starting at noon EST at Prasco Park. Another opening-round game will follow at Legacy Field around 3:15 p.m. and the evening nightcap will start at 6 p.m.

The bracket will be adjusted accordingly for tournament action to continue on Thursday.

All games will feature live stats and video at G-MACSports.com. Games at Prasco Park will feature a two-camera setup while Legacy Field will include one camera placed behind home plate.

Links will be added to the composite schedule as soon as home/away teams are clearly designated.

The annual all-conference baseball team also is scheduled to be released by the G-MAC on Tuesday evening following the banquet at PRASCO Park where renowned guest speaker Anthony Munoz will talk to the student-athletes.

Munoz is enshrined in Canton in the NFL Hall of Fame following a 13-year career as an offensive lineman for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Last year’s guest speaker was also from the professional ranks as former Atlanta Braves’ pitcher Jose Alvarez presented.

At 19-5, Trevecca Nazarene and Kentucky Wesleyan battled their way to a tie for first when the regular season concluded. The Trojans won a decisive tiebreaker to open the series against the Panthers to earn the No. 1 and their fourth consecutive regular-season title.

Both TNU and KWC have made appearances in the NCAA Midwest Region rankings this season in the top 10.

TNU will face No. 6 seed Davis & Elkins on Wednesday to get tournament action underway. Last year’s G-MAC runner-up No. 5 Ohio Valley clinched a tournament bid on the final day and will match up against No. 2 KWC for the afternoon affair.

A deep rotation will help anchor the playoff chances for No. 3 Alderson Broaddus as they prepare for a showdown vs. No. 4 Cedarville, which has a bonafide ace of its own in Garrett Baker.
