INDIANAPOLIS - Davis & Elkins will represent the Great Midwest Athletic Conference for the first time in the NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Midwest Regional II.
Tuesday-night’s NCAA selection show revealed D&E, the G-MAC’s automatic qualifier, as the No. 7 seed in the Midwest Region.
The Senators will travel to Romeoville, Ill., and the campus of Lewis University for an opening-round matchup against the regional host on Sunday, May 8.
A start time is still yet to be determined. The winner would advance to play on Monday, May 9, in the regional final against either No. 3 Indianapolis or No. 6 Tiffin.
Also receiving AQ’s from the Midwest Region were No. 2 Lewis from the GLVC and No. 4 Northwood (Mich.). No. 1 Drury is the Midwest Regional I host with No. 5 Grand Valley also in that pod.
D&E enters the postseason with a 14-11 overall record and finished off a 7-0 run through the league in the regular season.
The Senators beat Cedarville, 5-1, in the G-MAC Championship final in the Dayton Indoor Tennis Courts after receiving the top overall seed for the conference tournament.
Elise Simon was named the G-MAC Freshman of the Year and senior Halima Michael and freshman Kelsie Roby were additionally named to the G-MAC All-Conference Women’s Tennis Team.
