GREENWOOD, Ind. – Trevecca Nazarene junior John Bolton and senior Tyler Tichenor were named as the 14th set of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Baseball Athletes of the Week on Monday.

The Trojans are contending for the G-MAC regular-season crown, sitting currently tied with Kentucky Wesleyan at 17-3 in the updated league standings.

Tichenor is one of the toughest outs an opposing pitcher is tasked with throughout the course of a game. Facing the left-handed on-base machine is a nightmare, especially when he comes to the plate four or five times per game.

The G-MAC’s career leader in games played, batting average, runs scored, stolen bases and several other categories, was at it again with a .600 average spread out over five games.

Tichenor batted 12-for-20 against North Alabama and Alderson Broaddus with a pair of doubles, two stolen bases, five RBI and six runs.

He’s the current league leader in hits (70) and stolen bases (26).

For the second time this spring, Bolton reeled in G-MAC Pitcher of the Week honors. This time, he handcuffed the offense of a strong Alderson Broaddus offensive squad with a complete-game shutout.

Bolton fanned 10 Battlers over seven scoreless frames and only gave up two hits. TNU was able to win three of four in the league series.

He lowered his ERA to 3.47 on the year and improved 6-2 in the win/loss column.
