GREENWOOD, Ind. - Alderson Broaddus juniors Jordan Martin and Randy Dobnak were named the 16th and final set of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Baseball Athletes of the Week on Monday.
Both were instrumental in helping the Battlers win the G-MAC Baseball Championship at PRASCO Park over the weekend in Mason, Ohio.
Alderson Broaddus earned the G-MAC’s first-ever automatic qualifier into the NCAA DII Midwest Regional to be played in Quincy, Ill.
The eighth-seeded Battlers (31-19) will play their first game on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. CST against region host and top seed Quincy.

Dobnak started the perfect four-game run for the No. 3-seeded Battlers in the first game of the tournament against No. 4 Cedarville.
The righty was dominant for eight innings as he outdueled his pitching counterpart from the Yellow Jackets, Garrett Baker.
Dobnak fanned eight, gave up no earned runs and walked a pair to improve to 7-2 on the year and earn the winning decision. He induced 14 ground ball outs compared to just two fly outs.
He gave Alderson Broaddus the quality start it needed to edge Cedarville in a close final, 3-1.
In the last game of the tournament, Dobnak’s number was called upon to hold a late lead against Trevecca Nazarene. He prevented the ‘if necessary’ game by pitching a scoreless ninth inning to secure a 9-6 win.
