GREENWOOD, Ind. – Ursuline junior attacker Maddie Kipp was named the final Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Athlete of the Week on Monday.
In the league’s inaugural season, Kipp and the Arrows celebrated hoisting the presentation of the first-ever women’s lacrosse conference championship trophy on Saturday in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
Kipp scored G-MAC Women’s Lacrosse Athlete of the Week honors for back-to-back weeks to close out her impressive spring campaign.
Kipp scored five goals and assisted on another as Ursuline beat Alderson Broaddus in the G-MAC Championship final, the third time this year that the Arrows have bested the Battlers.
Kipp scored four of those goals in the first half, helping establish early control out of the gates. She scored just 13 seconds into regulation and gave Ursuline additional momentum right before halftime with a goal with one second left on the clock.
Her second-half goal was just as dazzling after Kipp curled from behind the net and spun around a defender in front of the goal to score.
Kipp was a G-MAC First Team All-Conference selection and finished the season with 65 points (49 goals, 16 assists) in 17 games.
