GREENWOOD, Ind. – Cedarville junior Lauren Jackson was named the third Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for the 2015-16 spring season.
This is Jackson’s second honor from the league this year after getting selected back in mid-March.
The Yellow Jackets played three matches in the last week, sitting atop of the G-MAC standings at 4-0 and are 9-6 overall.
Cedarville is on a five-match win streak after recently beating Ursuline, Salem International and Bethel, in order.
Jackson improved to 10-5 on the year in singles competition, manning the No. 1 position all year long for the Yellow Jackets.
As good as that winning percentage might be, she has been better in doubles with partner Kristen Heydt. Together, they are 12-3 as a tandem this season.
In all three matches this past week, Jackson won in straight sets. Her most difficult test came against Ursuline’s Roslyn Ng as they battled into a second-set tiebreaker that went Jackson’s favor, 8-6.
