GREENWOOD, Ind. - Alderson Broaddus junior pitcher Randy Dobnak and Davis & Elkins senior shortstop/first baseman Travis Phelps were named as the sixth set of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Baseball Athletes of the Week on Monday.
The Battlers of AB closed in on a weekend series sweep against Charleston before weather interrupted progress while Davis & Elkins hit the road to split a four-game set at Philadelphia.

Dobnak spun a 12-strikeout complete game gem against Charleston, limiting the Golden Eagles to just two hits in his second start of the spring.
Dobnak already appears to be in midseason form and is now 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA with 22 strikeouts spread out over just 13 innings pitched.
He faced just three batters over the minimum as his offense staked him to a one-run lead in its first series of at-bats.
After getting out of a minor jam in the bottom half of the first inning, Dobnak buckled down and handcuffed Charleston’s offense from that point on.
In the third inning, he recorded all three outs via the strikeout and retired his final eight batters in a row to finish off the 7-0 AB win.

The Senators split with the Rams as Phelps was a combined 6-for-15 at the plate with five runs scored, a triple, a walk and a stolen base.
He started three of the four games at first base and had at least one hit in all four games.
In the series opener, Phelps was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs. He legged out a triple in the final game of the series and scored.
