GREENWOOD, Ind. - Davis & Elkins freshman defender/goalkeeper Emily Adams was named the third Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Athlete of the Week for the 2016 season on Monday.

The Senators made history in the early stages of the program’s inaugural season, earning the first-ever win for D&E women’s lacrosse last week against Montreat in North Carolina.

Adams was credited with 11 saves on 17 shots as her team provided offensive firepower on the road to the tune of an 18-2 victory. 

Davis & Elkins has played two games this year, the program’s first coming against Charleston. 

Adams has played both games and all 120 minutes as the starting goalkeeper this year for Davis & Elkins.
