GREENWOOD, Ind. - Alderson Broaddus junior first baseman Marquis Collier and senior relief pitcher/infielder Trent Shaw were named as the seventh set of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Baseball Athletes of the Week on Monday.
AB finished up its Spring Break trip in Florida, going 3-3 against a strong schedule that featured Ashland, Grand Valley State and Northwood, of the GLIAC and Wayne State (Neb.) as well.

Collier batted .476 for the Battlers in six games at the RussMatt Classic helping AB to a 3-3 record.
In six games, Collier slugged .619 and posted a .522 on base percentage. He tallied three doubles, three RBI and two runs scored.
Collier recorded four multi-hit games on the trip. He is currently batting .370 on the season with nine RBI and eight doubles.

Shaw converted saves in all three of the Battlers’ wins this past week at the RussMatt Classic in Lakeland, Fla.
In three innings of work he allowed just one hit while striking out three. In the opening game of the spring trip, Shaw recorded the first two outs of the ninth against Wayne State before overcoming an error to get the final out.
Against Ashland, Shaw didn't allow a run and struck out a pair to earn the save. Shaw also picked up a save in an inning of work against Northwood (Mich.) in an extra-inning affair that the Battlers won 3-2.
Shaw is now 5-for-5 in save opportunities this season. He has a 2.84 ERA in six innings of work, allowing two earned runs and striking out 10 while walking just one.
