GREENWOOD, Ind. – Ursuline freshman midfielder Hayley Mazreku was named the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Athlete of the Week for the 2016 season on Monday.
The Arrows won their season debut against Wilmington College with a convincing 21-6 final decision.
Mazreku is officially the conference’s first-ever athlete of the week selection in women's lacrosse with Ursuline, Alderson Broaddus and Davis & Elkins, comprising of G-MAC teams in the emerging sport.
Mazreku, playing in her first collegiate game following a prep career at Moon High School in Pennsylvania, found the scoresheet early and often to help the Arrows’ offensive cause.
Mazreku tallied six goals -- three in each half -- in her Ursuline debut.
The Arrows improved to 2-0 and also won their second game of the season against Montevallo on Monday.
