GREENWOOD, Ind. – Kentucky Wesleyan senior first baseman Troy Paris and senior pitcher Evan Mohr were named as the first set of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Baseball Athletes of the Week on Monday.
 
The Panthers swept a season-opening three game series at home versus Lane in Owensboro.  The series was moved due to rain in Jackson, Tenn.
 
Paris did more than his share of damage at the plate while Mohr was a part of history by committee in a successful no-hit bid against the Dragons.

Mohr was the ringleader of what turned out to be a no-hitter against Lane to start Saturday’s doubleheader.
 
The senior righty was near perfect for four innings with the starting nod. He pitched four innings of scoreless baseball to go with five strikeouts.
 
Only one runner reached base (hit-by-pitch) in the first inning. He retired 10 consecutive batters after and exited the game with an 11-0 lead and the winning decision.
 
The Panthers picked Mohr up with plenty of run production and in order, Nate Verst, Logan Mallory and Mitchell Jones, all combined to share the first no-hitter of the spring.

Paris, a second-team All-American as a junior and G-MAC leader in doubles, mashed Lane pitching all weekend for a torrid offensive start to his senior campaign.
 
Paris batted .500 (6-for-12) at the plate and ripped four extra-base hits, including three doubles and a grand slam. He also scored seven times and drove in eight while additionally reaching base on a walk and hit-by-pitch.

Paris emptied the bases in the bottom of the third inning in the series finale, unloading on a pitch to score Seth Campbell, Cody Bridges and Jacob Snodgrass. He hit five home runs last spring.
 
Batting second in the order in his season debut, Paris lit up the Dragons for two doubles, three RBI and three runs, on Friday.
 
He legged out his third double of the weekend in KWC’s no-hit effort and a 13-0 shutout while going 2-for-4 at the dish.
 
The Panthers outscored Lane by a combined score of 57-4 in their first three games of the season.
