In his second start of the season, Kunkel silenced the bats of North Greenville in shutout fashion to start a Saturday doubleheader in South Carolina.

In a 2-0 Salem International win, Kunkel went the distance and tossed the complete game two-hit blanking.

The Tigers staked him two a two-run cushion in the top of the third inning.

After getting out of a minor jam with runners at second and third to end the bottom of the third, Kunkel retired 10 straight in the middle innings to get into rhythm.

He finished the game with just 75 pitches thrown and wound up with two strikeouts and just one walk issued.
