INDIANAPOLIS - Cedarville sophomore Rosie Thompson was named the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Month for her accomplishments in September.

The Yellow Jackets started the fall with four wins in five matches, beating Otterbein, Franciscan, Indiana East and Ohio Christian.

While Cedarville was an impressive 20-10 as a team in singles and 11-4 in doubles, Thompson more than did her part with a combined 8-1 record.

While alternating at the No. 4 and No. 5 position in singles, Thompson was unbeaten at 4-0.

She teamed up with Deanna Whalen for three doubles wins and went 1-1 with teammate Halie Hardwick.

In her career, Thompson is now 19-4 overall in singles since 2015 along with a 6-0 conference record. She is 16-9 in doubles since her career started last fall.
