GREENWOOD, Ind. – Alderson Broaddus freshman Taylor Treadway was named the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the fall on Tuesday.
 
Treadway made a splash in her collegiate debut at the Davis & Elkins Forest Festival Invitational on Saturday, conquering the course that will serve as home for the 2015 G-MAC Cross Country Championships in late October.
 
She ran the 6K course at Davis & Elkins College with a winning time of 24:39.08, besting a field comprised of 50 total individuals, including four conference schools.
 
With top honors at what is billed as a challenging course, Treadway, a native of Ravenswood, W,Va., helped the Battlers finish third as a team.
 
Alderson Broaddus will next compete at its own Seaton Invitational on Saturday in Philippi.
