GREENWOOD, Ind. - Alderson Broaddus freshman Taylor Treadway was named the fourth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the fall on Monday.

Treadway was picked for the second time this season by the conference for weekly honors after the Battlers competed in Pennsylvania on Saturday. She also was named G-MAC Athlete of the Week during the opening weekend after winning the Davis & Elkins Forest Festival Invitational.

Another one of the rookie’s many finest 6K outings came at the Lock Haven Invitational over the weekend.

Treadway not only put a dent into the all-time performance chart, she also seized sole possession of the top 6K time for the current season around the G-MAC.

Treadway finished 13th overall in the upper tier of a field with 258 total runners as she crossed the finish line in 22:26.77. As a team, Alderson Broaddus finished 12th of 19.

Treadway’s latest effort puts her seventh all-time in the G-MAC record books in the 6K distance since the 2012 inaugural season of competition.

Alderson Broaddus will be back on the course Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Slippery Rock Invitational.
