GREENWOOD, Ind. – Cedarville University was determined as another favorite in a fall sport, this time toppling the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Preseason Coaches Poll on Monday.

Cedarville was also picked as the preseason favorite in men’s soccer and volleyball to go with the women’s cross country coaches poll.

The Yellow Jackets have won three consecutive G-MAC titles and in a close margin at the top of this year’s preseason poll, edged out Trevecca Nazarene University in the voting.

Cedarville received a total of 56 points and six first-place votes and TNU picked up 52 points with the other two first-place votes.

Alderson Broaddus University collected 45 points to come in at third while this year’s G-MAC Championship host, Davis & Elkins College, was right behind in fourth with 36 points.

The 2014 G-MAC Championship host, Kentucky Wesleyan College, was voted fifth with 32 points while Ursuline College racked up 28 points to sit in sixth. Ohio Valley University (24) and Salem International University (15) were selected seventh and eighth, respectively.

The G-MAC is working with member institutions for an extensive preseason preview later this month. Interviews with the head coach and a student-athlete along with a written team capsule will be posted on G-MACSports.com prior to the regular season getting underway.
