GREENWOOD, Ind.  – Matt Pobereyko and Johnathan Eberhardt, both from Kentucky Wesleyan, claimed the final regular season weekly awards around the Great Midwest Athletic Conference baseball landscape as announced on Monday.
 
The duo once again performed with high remarks as the Panthers went 3-2 this past week and finished the season 32-16 (15-9 G-MAC) overall to wrap up the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament that begins this week.
 
Pobereyko and Eberhardt both are repeat winners of conference weekly honors at their respective positions this spring.

KWC standout hurler Matt Pobereyko dazzled once again and earned the G-MAC Pitcher of the Week status for the fourth time this season. The righty ends his final year at the top of the conference statistical leaderboard in wins (9), strikeouts (98) and ERA (1.63).
 
Pobereyko also leads the conference in opponent batting average (.168). He has been a revelation for the KWC pitching rotation while effectively coming back from two major arm injuries sustained over the course of his career.
 
In his only start this week, Pobereyko picked up the win against Davis & Elkins after going 6.2 innings and striking out eight. He allowed just one run on five hits.
 
The third-seeded Panthers plays No. 4 Cedarville at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in Mason, Ohio, to begin Great Midwest Athletic Conference Baseball Championship.

For the third time this season, slugging outfielder Johnathan Eberhardt has been named G-MAC Player of the Week. The Indianapolis native capped off a terrific season in which he finished near the top in most offensive categories in the conference.
 
Among those, Eberhardt was in the top five for slugging percentage (.686), on-base percentage (.466), runs (68), hits (70), RBI (55), walks (28), home runs (13) and total bases (127).
 
In a non-conference battle with GLVC member Southern Indiana, Eberhardt drove in a pair of runs with a couple hits, including a double in the loss.
 
The third baseman had an impactful series against conference foe Davis & Elkins as he went a combined 8-for-15 at the plate.
 
Blasting two home runs and another double, Eberhardt collected six more RBI for the week. He had six runs scored.
