G-MAC Announces All-Conference Women’s Tennis Performers

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - On Thursday evening, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference hosted the 2015 women’s tennis social event and awards presentation at Cedarville University, the site of the 2015 Women’s Tennis Championships.
 
The G-MAC presented its 2015 All-Conference Team and Individual Award winners prior to the quarterfinal rounds, beginning on Friday at the Johnson-Murdoch Complex.
 
Highlighting the presentations were the announcements of G-MAC Coach of the Year, G-MAC Freshman of the Year and G-MAC Player of the Year.
 
Great Midwest Athletic Conference: Coach of the Year
DEE MORRIS - Cedarville University
 
Coach Morris led her Lady Jackets to a perfect 7-0 conference record and a 13-8 overall record in 2015. The team started slow in the fall, going 2-5 and then 1-3 to start the spring. However, the Lady Jackets finished the regular-season strong, winning their final 10 matches of the season as they headed into the G-MAC Tournament as the top overall seed.
 
Great Midwest Athletic Conference: Freshman of the Year
ROSYLN NG - Ursuline College - Freshman
 
Ng was the feature player on the Arrows, playing at the #1 singles in eight of the nine regular-season matches. Despite the team going just 1-8 on the season, Ng managed an impressive 6-2 record at the top singles position and a 3-5 record in doubles - including 3-3 in conference play. Her only losses in singles action came against Julia Hoehn - the G-MAC Player of the Year, and All-Conference and number one singles player from top seeded Cedarville, Lily Schuler.
 
Great Midwest Athletic Conference: Player of the Year
JULIA HOEHN - Davis & Elkins College - Senior
 
Hoehn posted the best overall record in the conference, going 5-0 in conference action at the #1 singles position. She was 8-8 overall at the top spot against a difficult regional schedule. In doubles, she went 11-5 at number one doubles, and again was undefeated (4-0) in conference action. Paired with Hali Michael, they won eight of their last ten doubles matches.
 
Great Midwest Athletic Conference: All-Conference First Team
 
The eight player All-Conference team featured a player from five of the six programs in conference, led by three selections from Cedarville, two from Davis & Elkins, and one each from Alderson Broaddus, Kentucky Wesleyan, and Ursuline.
