Lily Schuler

Lily Schuler has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conferences Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week after a week in which the team didn’t lose a match.

Schuler managed a win in doubles against Wittenberg in mid-week action, which was shortened to a 5-0 win after rain washed out the top singles matches. Schuler and her partner, Courtney Heydt, won 8-1, but both of their singles matches were canceled due to rain and the team securing the five points it needed to win the match.

In G-MAC action, Schuler and Heydt started things off with a 8-2 win. In the team’s 9-0 win, Schuler took part in the match of the day. After falling 6-1 in the first set, she rallied to win the second set 6-4 and then secured the win in a third-set tiebreaker 11-9.

Schuler is now 8-9 on the season, but improved to 6-4 at number one singles. She is 10-8 in doubles action, including 4-1 in conference and have won seven of the last ten at number one doubles.
