GREENWOOD, Ind. - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Maryssa Herbert of Cedarville University the Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week after leading the Lady Jackets to a pair of wins, including a win over Kentucky Wesleyan to open the conference schedule.

Maryssa Herbert has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conferences Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week after a solid week, which included the G-MAC conference opener against Kentucky Wesleyan.
In a pair of wins by the Lady Jackets over Bethel and KWC, Herbert went 2-0 at the number three singles position and 2-0 in number two doubles. Against the Panthers, Herbert won her match 6-1, 6-0 and then teamed up with Kirsten Heydt to win their doubles match 8-1.
Against Bethel, she had a little more fight in singles winning 6-4 and 6-1, but against with Heydt as her doubles partner, won 8-1. With her victories, Herbert now ranks second all-time at Cedarville with 53 singles wins in her four years.
