GREENWOOD, Ind. – Ursuline forward Camryn Hill was named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Division II Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Hill, already a two-time Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week in 2015-16, was selected by the organization for the week ending Dec. 6.
Her selection represents the first USBWA Player of the Week honor received by a G-MAC student-athlete in the league’s young history.
Hill, the most recent Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week, averaged an impressive 26 points and 15 rebounds per contest, while shooting 64.3 percent from the field.
The sophomore forward helped the Arrows to victories over Wilberforce (100-58) and Ohio Christian (84-64), improving their overall record to 6-1, two wins shy of equaling last season’s total.
Hill began the week with 20 points and 11 rebounds in 29 minutes of action in the win over Wilberforce. She netted 7-of-10 field goals, while also recording two assists, two steals and a blocked shot.
Hill then poured in 32 points and pulled down 19 rebounds, a GMAC season-high, in the victory over Ohio Christian. She was 11-of-18 from the field, including 3-of-4 from three-point range, and connected on all seven free throw attempts.
Hill also tallied two assists, two blocked shots and a steal.
